DAVE MILLS
|
As a 34 Year old, singer/songwriter, Dave has been playing guitar for 23
years and has been playing in bands for almost the same amount of time.
For the last few years, he has been working alone on original material,
which is sometimes difficult but always rewarding! As well as working
hard his own material, he also worked in a couple of covers bands - to keep the
money rolling in. He usually works several times a week in Bars and
Clubs, so he at least makes a living out of his passion.
|
Dave does all the work on his own tracks from performing to producing right
through to programming, engineering and mastering. He has had his own
home studio for about 4 years and when he has time he records friends projects
- from Metal to Gypsy Jazz which has really helped in the very steep
learning curve of running a studio.
In May 2005, Dave had one of his earlier tracks "Take me home" picked up
and released on an album by the huge Asian star "Nicholas Tse" which
was a nice reward for many years of hard work. The album is called "Listen up"
and the track was renamed "Fight". This track was originally
called "Take me home" which you can hear on his web site along with
some older songs.
Dave will be making some of his material available for download from his
website www.davemillsweb.com very soon.
You can hear Dave Mills on Star Radio with the song "Sometimes".

STEVE EDWARDS
|
|
Steve arrived in the UK in 1996, a New Zealander, hungry to see the
World and follow his music ambitions. Six months were spent working and
travelling and while in India he learnt to play the guitar. From the very
start songs flowed and though there have been a few 'air-bubbles', that
flow has never stopped.
For a few years Steve played in various Rock/Pop line-ups before
starting his solo career in 2001 with the recording of what would become
'fish out of water'. An album, which embodied an artist with one foot in
credible song-writing and the other rather tenuously in commercial
output.
The song called 'one by one' was somehow leaked to a BBC Radio Two
producer. What happened next surprised everyone! 'one by one' was made
'record of the week' and play-listed for 5 weeks!! Unprecedented for an
unknown artist!! Over 5000 copies of 'fish out of water' have already
been sold as a limited edition on the 'net.
|
The foundation had been set, Steve had proved his potential at the
first attempt and the new album "1000 miles from sane" will be released
soon (at the time of this writing, June 2006).

TRACK 5
|
|
Three singers called TRACK 5 may sound a bit different, but that is just the beginning of the clash of the unexpected that is TRACK 5.
TRACK 5 are three brilliant singers with styles which are totally different from each other. Paul Vercoe, Krishool and Adam Lovell sing
a mix of classic melodies blended with biting lyrics and an unmistakable urban edge. While this might begin to describe their music,
it is the seamless blend of their vocals with songs that punch that is the real surprise. TRACK 5 is a band that blends opposites, it
is their differences that make them proudly unique.
United in 2001, TRACK 5 have now become an extremely gifted, highly motivated and exceedingly dedicated group who wish to enhance and
fill the much needed niche in the Australian music scene and share their Australian flavour with the world, through their infectious
tunes, gorgeous harmonies and irresistible charm.
Each having originated from different cultures; Krishool, from Ghana, West Africa; Paul from country Victoria; Adam from the city of
Brisbane, resulting in their own unique styles. These styles are evident in the song writing and vocal arrangements, bringing diversity
to the groups enticing vocals.
All three have developed their gifts in diverse environments allowing them to explore their musical talents for numerous years prior to
forming. Krishool having been a member of the Australian Boys Choir, Adam emerging from a circus and theatre background and Paul developing
his skills from classical training in piano and church choirs. To witness a live performance from TRACK 5 is intoxicating, with each of them
in their element protruding a charismatic stage presence.
On stage TRACK 5 have the natural ability for putting on a show. TRACK 5 have perfected their sound and performance and takes the audience on
a real journey. These guys can do it live as appreciative audiences in Melbourne will attest.
They have been uncompromising in their efforts to produce music that is uniquely their own - they are not trying to reference their work from
a procession of pop acts but forge an act that takes the listener off guard.
TRACK 5 are now combining their talents with producers Paul Carmody and Steaurt DeHoedt of Depac Music to create their fresh new sound, drawing
from their own personal urban, funk and vocal influences, for a long awaited album with a difference.
A loyal fan base and continual support from radio stations, local press, Melbourne nightclubs, pubs and schools throughout Victoria, have gained
TRACK 5 a firm reputation as an unpredictable and insatiable band in the music industry.
TRACK 5 brought their debut single in the form of "CRAZY" in July 2004. "Everything Ends" is their latest single and soon will release their
debut album.

CRAIG HEATH
|
|
Wanna hear some real melodic rock? Look no further than Australia’s next major rock star, Craig Heath. Featuring massive radio-friendly
hooks and choruses to die for, Craig is a breath of fresh air in this age of freeze-dried, style-over-substance wanna-be pop/rock.
From the raw sex appeal of “Hold On Tight” where he dares you to join him on a decadent joy-ride into hedonism, to the plaintively
majestic power ballad "My Mistake", and the heartfelt pure 80’s tinged pop of "Over & Over", it is clear that this is an artist reaching
straight to the heart of all the "real" people. No pretension here folks! Music of your life and for your life... Music like it’s meant to be...
Craig has been an over achiever from day one and he’s not stopping now. Classically trained guitar player... Black-Belt martial artist...
Hell, he even did a stint as a bodyguard to Paris Hilton!!
Craig has now been signed as a solo artist and songwriter to Glenn Wheatley’s Talentworks, a feat achieved when Craig spotted Glenn seated
behind him at a concert and brazenly introduced himself.
A couple of conversations later Glenn found himself not only listening to Craig’s demos in his office but on Nova FM in Melbourne where
Craig had simply sent a demo song to the station, which promptly placed it on rotation airplay after tremendous audience response.
Be ready, sit back, strap yourself in and "Hold On Tight" for the ride of your life with... Craig Heath.

BRITNEY CHRISTIAN
|
|
Britney Christian is a 15 year old pop/R&B vocalist who sings with such raw power and emotion you would swear she is a decade older.
She has performed in dozens of venues, many as large as Dodger Stadium and the Rose Bowl, others as intimate as a small supper club
in her hometown Ventura, California. She sang on television in the syndicated series “American’s Most Talented Kid” and at the L.A.
Sports Fan Choice Awards. Britney has at least two things going for her. She sings with such passion that the person listening is
usually left with mouth agape and jaw dropped. Her immense vocal talent is combined with the good fortune of being able to sing
in front of an audience of 50 or 50,000 – it matters
|
not – and not be nervous. The end of any Britney Christian performance is
always the same: Lots of people turning to each other and asking, "Who is that girl?"
"That girl," through talent, hard work, creativity, and a sheer love of singing, has been able
to attract an immense following in recent months. Without any promotion, over 15,000 people have
listened to her songs in the past two months alone by visiting her myspace site and nearly 7000
of those visitors have written to her to rave about her songs and stunning voice. She is currently
recording her first CD and hopes to sign with a record label by the end of the year. Star Radio is
currently (at the time of this writing) promoting her track “Too Pefect” in its broadcast.

BREANNA
|
Talent, beauty and intrigue come in many forms. But you can find all three in the compelling voice of a 21-year-old singer named Breanna.
A native of Minneapolis-St.Paul, Breanna could be Minnesota’s next pop music singer to climb to national prominence. With a voice as natural
and soulful as she is unassuming and alluring, the young artist from the Twin Cities suburb of Eagan stands on the threshold.
Breanna’s latest CD release, “No Other Love”, showcases her big voice and the seasoned songwriting and production of Jud Friedman, who first
discovered her after an extensive Internet talent search. Friedman, an Oscar-, Grammy- and Golden Globe-nominated songwriter, has penned hits
for such stellar singers as Whitney Houston ("Run to You"), James Ingram ("I Don’t Have the Heart"), Tina Turner, Rod Stewart, Barbra Streisand
and others.
"There’s something very special about her
|
voice," Friedman says, recalling the first time he heard her sing: "She videotaped an acappella
song for me out on the front lawn at her home. I could hear it then, that little mysterious Minneapolis thing. You’re not sure what it is,
but she’s got this sound in her that is so soulful and emotional. Breanna's voice stands out; it has power and passion, and her technique
was always in the service of communicating real emotion, not just going over the top for its own sake."
Her CD, “No Other Love”, is a collection of songs that are very personal to her. “All my girlfriends and I approach our relationships with
guys differently, and these songs speak to the many feelings and emotions we’ve experienced as we try to relate to the guys. The songs are
at times fun, sassy, assertive, introspective, and romantic. Whatever girls are going through, there are songs they will relate to; and the
guys will definitely recognize themselves in these songs. It’s a relationship CD that both guys and girls will get a lot out of – both
musically and emotionally.”
Breanna has performed for thousands of fans at radio shows, sporting events, charity shows and club dates. Her last single, “You Don’t Have
to Be Strong” was featured as “Single of the Week” on iTunes where it broke the record for number of downloads.
Breanna lists Lauryn Hill and Jewel as two of her favorite singer-songwriters; and Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys and india.arie
as some of her most admired singers and influences.
"I’ll always be singing no matter what happens," she insists. "Even if it’s by myself on some street corner." Chances are more than just the
lamppost or her front lawn will be privy to this young woman’s splendid vocal prowess. Chances are everyone will be hearing a lot more of
Breanna’s "mysterious little Minneapolis thing".

STUTTER
|
|
Everything 80’s is cool again and at first glance one might assume Stutter is hopping on the bandwagon. But fans of the 5-piece pop
group from Toronto, Canada know that Stutter has been driving that wagon for years now. They have proudly been delivering synth-driven
pop with an 80’s flare since they formed in 1999 and are now an upcoming band garnering fan buzz and media attention.
Fronted by the tall Scandinavian known as MO, Stutter’s sound can be compared to Blondie kicking the crap out of Roxette. It combines pop,
new wave, rock and dance into a unique and undeniable sound.
The group just completed their debut CD, produced by Alex Greggs (Duran Duran, N’Sync). It will be available online in May and in stores
in June 2005.

JESSICA PAIGE
|
People struggle when they try to place Jessica Paige in a musical pidgeon-hole. The feel in some songs could be compared to Norah Jones,
her lyrics could be reminiscent of Joni Mitchell, her sweet voice that can "make you feel like you’ve been lifted on the wings of angels"
is... well,.... you’ll have to decide for yourself!!
Jessica’s songs can make audiences smile, or reach for their tissues. Her award-winning song "Under My Skin" has been hailed as a masterpiece
of classic songwriting. It is a song about obsession that you may find is on repeat in your head due to its catchy tune, rolling rhythms and
powerful lyrics.
Jessica plays solo and with her 5 piece band "Jess and the Paige Boys", and will start touring within Australia in 2005. Her first 6 track EP,
"Back of Our Minds", was released in September 2004 and is on sale through CD Baby.
Jessica writes all her own material, plays
|
guitar and piano and rejects the oversexed images of female Pop idols. She plans on being around
for the duration as a performer and songwriter. In 2005 she plans to release a single and a second EP.
Her favourite artists are songwriters who don’t go for the expected notes or clichés in lyrics. Just as The Beatles broke new ground with
their style and songs, Jessica admires Oz bands like George and Silverchair for their adventurous spirit and that they are true to their own
artistic vision and resist the pressures to go "mainstream".
Jessica has recently won an APRA national songwriting award as well as having several other performing and writing awards under her belt.
She has been described as "an absolute prodigy - songs so perceptive and mature, great melodies and... they make you feel so much..."
"I'm evolving and changing all the time," she said. "I want the space to experiment and have the freedom to create music that expresses what
I have to say in a new way".

DEEYAH
|
|
Enigmatic, intelligent and sexy, 26 year old Deeyah is a truly international
artist with global star appeal. Born and raised in Norway, of Asian descent,
Deeyah now divides her time between the UK and the US where she has been
working with the cream of US producers in Atlanta including Darin Prindle of
Destiny's Child, Madonna and TLC fame.
Her forthcoming new album is a testament to Deeyah's determination, artistic
commitment and talent. A gifted singer and songwriter, Deeyah co-writes and
co-produces all tracks on the new album. In addition to this, Deeyah prides
herself on always keeping in touch with her fans whom she she has met on her
recent UK tours. "I give out my email address to many fans and have made so
many friends this way. They have supported me so much and made the hard work
worthwhile. I am indebted to them for their support."
The new album, Deeyah reveals, is ostensibly pop with elements of hip-hop and rock plus a
|
subtle Asian influence. The music reflects both her
background in classical Indian singing and her love of pop.
"Living in Scandinavia I grew up with pop. I adored Madonna, Michael Jackson
and Prince. Later on, I really got into hip-hop as well as rock. I love
Snoop Dogg, Dre, Cypress Hill, Above the Law and Tha Alkaholiks as well as
Metallica, Faith No More, and Alice In Chains. All these acts have a big
impact on my musical taste and a great influence on my own musical expression".
Immersed in music from an early age, Deeyah trained within the Indian
classical vocal tradition for more than fourteen years and had the rare
privilege of being the only female ever to be trained by Ustad Fateh Ali
Khan in classical Indian singing. In her native Norway, Deeyah has already
released two critically acclaimed albums under her birth name Deepika.
Deeyah's first single, the double A-side "Plan of My Own / I Saw You" -- is
currently receiving heavy spins in clubs on both US coasts as well as being
number 1 on The Box UK -- was released on Brainwash Records on January 31, 2005

JENNIFER DANIELS
|
"Jennifer Daniels flirts with rock, pop and anything else that comes
into her musical path. The result is pretty damn great", says
'Performing Songwriter'. "This is music that seems to have grown slowly from some
rich, dark soil". Her powerful voice, angelic melodies and spirited
performances have won over the hearts of audiences and critics across the country.
Now the award-winning singer-songwriter returns with her highly
|
anticipated third release, Summer Filled Sky. Creative Loafing Atlanta says,
"If you’re in need of an antidote to all things Britney-like, Daniels’
latest effort 'Summer Filled Sky' is like taking 12 doses of sanity in a
world gone wrong". Jennifer’s newest release is hot off the presses,
and promises to delight and inspire an even wider audience than her
sophomore album "Dive & Fly".
Dive & Fly thrust Daniels onto the national scene when it was named one
of the Top 12 Independent Releases in 2002 by 'Performing Songwriter'.
FM Odyssey not only awarded 'Dive & Fly' Album of the Year, but the
nationally syndicated radio show also chose Jennifer as 'Best New Female Artist' at
their Alternative to the Grammy’s music awards. 'Paste Magazine' writes
"It is a rare gift that someone can express such depth and power in
lyrics, and it is even more rare that the lyrical gift is accompanied by
such an amazing musical talent".

TRIXSY
|
|
Trixsy is no flower. She is scorned, bemused and electrifying. Her
repertoire of 500 songs proves just that. She is a gifted songwriter who is
able to mix stunning lyrics to spine tingling melodies that can swoon
her listeners into an aching frenzy everytime. Trixsy produces her songs
with diversity - adding mandolins, violins, oboes and bongos into the
mix!. She experiments with her sounds yet still manages to conform to
the pop standards that the music industry has constructed. Trixsy has
taken a PopRock concept and transformed it into a completely new genre of pop music.
|
Having written her first song at the age of 6, and performed live since
the age of 10, Trixsy has mastered the art of performance and the craft
of excellent songwriting. By the age of 16 she had been on a 7 date
tour of Barcelona, sung live on national radio, recorded 10 of her own
songs in Liverpool studios, and got offered a dodgy record deal. By the
age of 19 she had formed a band called 'Qubis' who received critical
acclaim in the North West with live appearances on Channel 4 and Sky
Television. It was during her three year stint with the band that she
developed the skills to impress live audiences with her powerful and soulful
voice as well as injecting an enormous amount of creativity amd
imagination into her catchy songs. She spent many long and painful hours in
the studio with Qubis, and their management team, recording a demo called
'Twisted Morning' which subsequently gained the band high profile gigs
across the UK. It was during this time that Trixsy developed an apitude
for commerical producing that took her songs onto a new creative level
of intensity. When Qubis took a nose-dive in 2001 she invested in her
own studio and began recording her first EP 'Striking Fire At A Tinder
Box' which was followed by the tuneful EP 'Trafficking' and received
favourable reviews in both the regional and national press.

CHEYNE
|
|
Cheyne first exploded onto the international music scene as writer, producer and lead singer of Madison Avenue,
who’s first single ‘Don’t Call Me Baby’ topped charts and garnered awards all the way around the world.
Cheyne immediately became an icon among pop audiences. They admired her for her talent, her sassiness, her sense
of fun, her outspokenness on animal rights and the environment, her deprecating humour, and her strong visual sense.
|
Cheyne’s upcoming solo album is very appropriately titled "Something Wicked This Way Comes...". Due for release in
Australia’s spring, it is a testament to her artistic growth since the Madison Avenue days. "I knew I didn’t want
a sample based record. And I wanted it sexier and tougher".
Her first solo single "I’ve Got Your Number", a cool slab of R&B dance/pop, is already proving to be a dance floor
smash. It’s stripped back and tough underneath, with distant horns, gospel backup vocals and funky keyboards. And,
of course, that unmistakable voice, delivering hooks that get inside your head and just won't let go.
