Michael Jackson: Ready to conquer the world !
Michael Jackson is working on an "edgy street record" with a string of producers including Will.I.Am, it has been claimed. The pop legend is apparently now living in Ireland, having spent around a year in exile in Bahrain following his acquittal on child sex abuse charges in California last summer. According to the uncle of Ron "Neff U" Feemster, former producer with Eminem, 50 Cent, and Ne-Yo, Jacko has brought in some production big-hitters for the proposed album. Feemster's uncle, Charles "Big Chuck" Stanton, told the Los Angeles Times that he'd been to the embattled star's new home to discuss the project and met "a musically focused and creatively fired-up Jackson." Stanton said he is "ready to take over the world. He's got some hot records. Will.I.Am did one, Teddy Riley [did one]. We're giving Michael a lot of edgy street records. He's putting melodies to some hard party records." There has been no confirmation from Jackson's camp about the reports.

Kylie snubbs Blair
Kylie Minogue has reportedly snubbed British Prime Minister Tony Blair because of her opposition to the war in Iraq. The singer, who yesterday officially launched her children's book, The Showgirl Princess, in London, is said to have declined an invitation to meet Mr Blair when the pair found themselves staying at the same Birmingham hotel. "The hotel manager passed the message on, but Miss Minogue politely declined," a source said. "She said it would be unfeasible, citing commitments to her concert as the reason." However, it is known that Minogue, currently recovering from treatment for breast cancer, is opposed to the war in Iraq. Those in her circle have raised questions as to whether this was the real reason behind her refusal as she is usually prepared to meet people when on tour. They told the Mail on Sunday they believed she refused as a protest against the war.

George Michael: Cannabis & Alcohol
George Michael was discovered hunched over the wheel of his BMW at a traffic light in a North London suburb. Officers were called to the scene by fellow drivers who claimed their attempts at honking and window-banging failed to wake the 43 year-old pop star. "At approximately 3:22 a.m. on Sunday morning, officers were informed of a stationary vehicle with a driver inside causing an obstruction at traffic lights," a spokesperson for Scotland Yard said without identifying Michael by name, per department policy. "Officers arrested a man on suspicion of being unfit to drive and possession of a controlled substance believed to be cannabis." According to the Daily Mirror, Michael was engaging in the mid-lane catnap just a mile away from his estate and was on his way home after a night of clubbing. The tabloid claimed that officers were able to wake Michael at the scene and administered a Breathalyzer test, which he failed. The cops then called a doctor to examine the singer, who was deemed "completely out of it." "There was a concern a mix of drugs and alcohol may have had a bad effect on him," a spokesperson for London's Metropolitan Police told the paper. It's the second time this year Michael has unwittingly pulled the roadside sleeping-beauty routine and the third time he's been involved in a traffic violation. I hope next time won't be when I'll go see George Live in concert in November....aaargh!

Clapton's "Dirty Cocaine"
Eric Clapton is playing "Cocaine" in concert again. The recovering drug addict and alcoholic, who founded the Crossroads Centre addiction recovery center on the Caribbean island of Antigua, stopped performing the song written by J.J. Cale when he first got sober. "I thought that it might be giving the wrong message to people who were in the same boat as me," Clapton recently told The Associated Press. "But further investigation proved ... the song, if anything, if it's not even ambivalent, it's an anti-drug song. And so I thought that might be a better way to do it, to approach it from a more positive point of view. And carry on performing it as not a pro-drug song, but just as a reality check about what it does." Clapton's band shouts out "dirty cocaine" during the song. "It's one of those songs that you can take it any way you like," Clapton told the AP. He also said he missed playing "Cocaine," - hmmm, just purely from a musical point of view ??

Eurovision Song Contest 2006: Who will be the winner?
Here comes May.... & in Europe, for the past 51 years, this means here comes the Eurovision Song Contest. I've been watching this contest every single year since 1982; it used to be fun and winners of the contest were really the best out of all the participants. For the past few years, Eurovision is not the same anymore; it became more focused on the business behind the contest and not really caring that the best must win. This said, every year, there are many quality songs and probably this is the only reason why I still care to watch the Eurovision contest. Last year, there were some good songs, and we played most of them on Star Radio; this year, I'm sad because there are really so few songs that you can even bother to listen to. Star Radio's staff has selected what they believe are the ONLY songs that your ears would want to listen to. The shows of 2004 and 2005 were globaly great, but the voting completely ridiculous; eastern european countries voting for each other and same happened from western european countries! ... let's wait and see how ridiculous the votings will be this year in Athens... So who will win this year? My own favorites are Kate Ryan from Belgium as well as Mihai from Romania... but favorites almost never win.... I remember Xandee in 2004! More on Eurovision on Star Radio.

D12's Proof and Eminem's best friend dies in a shooting
Proof, whose real name is Deshaun Holton, was killed early Tuesday in a shooting at the CCC, a nightclub in a strip of businesses along Eight Mile, the road made famous in the 2002 film starring Eminem. The 32-year-old rapper, a member of D12, was the best man in Eminem's January wedding. Seldom was Eminem seen in public without Proof. "He pushed me to become who I am. Without Proof's guidance and encouragement there would have been a Marshall Mathers, but probably not an Eminem and certainly never a Slim Shady," the statement by the 33-year-old rap superstar said. "He can never, ever be replaced. He was, and always will be, my best friend." Police have said that Proof fired the first bullet inside the nightclub, touching off a shootout that ended his life.
