Kylie Minogue has reportedly snubbed British Prime Minister Tony Blair because of her opposition to the war in Iraq. The singer, who yesterday officially launched her children's book, The Showgirl Princess, in London, is said to have declined an invitation to meet Mr Blair when the pair found themselves staying at the same Birmingham hotel. "The hotel manager passed the message on, but Miss Minogue politely declined," a source said. "She said it would be unfeasible, citing commitments to her concert as the reason."
However, it is known that Minogue, currently recovering from treatment for breast cancer, is opposed to the war in Iraq. Those in her circle have raised questions as to whether this was the real reason behind her refusal as she is usually prepared to meet people when on tour. They told the Mail on Sunday they believed she refused as a protest against the war.
