John Mayer's on the road show
John Mayer has always had a special way of connecting with his audience but now he is taking it one step further via a talk show set on the road. Shot guerrilla-style, it's one part documentary, one part travelogue and one part sketch comedy. The show is a fast-paced half-hour that offers up an entertaining "behind-the-scenes" look at John's life on the road. Shot during Mayer's most recent summer tour, the show gives a glimpse of how John spends his day when he's not singing to sold-out crowds. He takes rapper Trick Daddy on a tour of downtown Nashville, he disguises himself in a bear suit costume to get a fresh perspective on how his audience preps for his concerts in the venue parking lot and four female fans get a shot at tweaking their favorite musician's image when he brings them in for their very own focus group. John Mayer's recent album "Heavier Things," has just been certified double platinum and features the hit single, "Daughters."

Robert Downey Jr. released his debut album "The Futurist"
Actor Robert Downey Jr. decided to take a new career path. He has just released his debut album "The Futurist". Singer/songwriter, Robert has worked in collaboration with producers Jonathan Elias and Mark Hudson in a style he calls "highbrow pop with jazz and classical influences," Downey has written eight powerful, new songs for The Futurist, which also includes two striking covers: Charlie Chaplin's "Smile," featuring jazz bassist Charlie Haden, and the Yes classic "Your Move," with Yes's Jon Anderson joining him on vocals.

After years of encouragement from friends and colleagues, the actor decided to go into the studio and build his first album largely on original tunes he penned several years ago as well as new songs he recently wrote.

Latoya London wins a record deal
25-year old singer Latoya London, who won the hearts of audiences of the USA on the 2004 season of American Idol, has signed her first record deal with independent label Peak Records. Latoya was widely considered an odds-on favorite to win this year's American Idol competition on FOX-TV. Her elimination in one of the final rounds of the series stunned fans nationwide, while the studio erupted into boos and jeers. As testament to her popularity, the singer has been much in demand since she departed the show, touring with the other contestants over the summer and making numerous public appearances. Peak Records President Andi Howard says that Latoya will follow in the footsteps of Whitney Houston and the other great female R&B singers that shaped the genre.

Latoya is currently working with the Peak team on material for her debut release, which will primarily feature R&B originals, although the diminutive singer promises to also bring fans a number of genre favorites. The CD is expected in summer of 2005 with recording to begin in January.

Robbie Williams got fat because of Drugs
As reported on BBC.com, Williams has now conquered his drug problems of the mid-1990s. Singer Robbie Williams has said he only gave up drugs and alcohol because they made him too fat. Robbie Williams spiralled into addiction to cocaine, ecstasy and alcohol after leaving boy band Take That in 1995. His condition became so bad that Sir Elton John "kidnapped" him and had him admitted to a rehab clinic. Drugs are not safe, and the risks can be much greater than simply putting on a bit of weight.

Asked whether he was confident about staying off mind-altering substances, he replied: "No, I'm not confident at all." Drugs charities criticised Williams for making irresponsible comments.

What's up with Elton?
After recently accusing Madonna of lip-synching during her recent Re-Invention tour, he hits back towards George Michael. Sir Elton was quoted last month as saying Michael was "in a strange place" with "a deep-rooted unhappiness" that came across on his latest album. He had said in an interview with Heat magazine that Michael should "get out more".

Michael said in an open letter to Heat magazine: "Elton John knows nothing about George Michael... we have rarely spoken in the past 10 years. Other than that, he knows that I don't like to tour, that I smoke too much pot, and that my albums still have a habit of going to number one. In other words, he knows as much as most of my fans do" the letter continued.

George added in his letter to Heat magazine : Sir Elton "seems to have forgotten me calling him a few months back to tell him that my American royalties from Patience would be donated entirely to the Elton John Aids Foundation".

George Michael's latest album Patience debuted at number one, Sir Elton's most recent LP, Peachtree, entered the chart at number 21.

New single from Brian McFadden
Not yet released world wide, 'Irish son' is already an old song in the UK. The reason is that the new single 'Almost Here' is in its way. Brian is joined on the new single by Australian superstar Delta Goodrem who delivers a touching, perfectly judged vocal performance. The duet follows the success of Brian's number 1 single, 'Real To Me' and the top 5 single, 'Irish Son'. 'Almost Here' was written by Brian McFadden with Paul Barry and was produced by Mark Taylor. The single's B side, 'Hollow No More' is a second compelling duet with Delta. Almost Here will be released January 24th.
