50 Cent Teams Up With Snoop Dogg For 'P.I.M.P.' Remix
Red-hot rapper 50 Cent has teamed up with Snoop Dogg for a remix of the rapper's "P.I.M.P." The original version of the song is currently Number 34 on the urban Radio & Records National Airplay chart. In related news, 50 Cent is currently touring Japan. The rapper is slated to visit Los Angeles, California this weekend--May 31 and June 1--for the taping of the MTV Movie Awards.
50 Cent's Interscope Records debut set, Get Rich Or Die Tryin', has sold more than 4.7 million copies since its release in February, according to Nielsen Soundscan.

Britney Spears Lawsuit Dismissed
A copyright lawsuit against Britney Spears has been dismissed by a federal judge, who determined that two songwriters failed to prove she copied the melody of one of their songs. According to the Associated Press, U.S. District Judge Berle M. Schiller ruled last week that Lawrence Wnukowski and Michael Cottrill could not provide enough evidence to prove that the pop star had access to their song "What You See Is What You Get" when she recorded, "What U See (Is What U Get)" for her 2000 album Oops!...I Did It Again.
Wnukowski and Cottrill claimed that they gave Spears' representatives a copyrighted version of their instrumental track in late 1999 after being asked to submit songs for Spears' upcoming album. But songwriters Jorgen Elofsson, David Kreuger, Per Magnusson, and Rami Yacoub testified that they never heard the melody until March 2003.
Judge Schiller cited defense testimony that said the melody of Spears' song was completely recorded by the beginning of 1999, before the singer or her songwriters "would have access to a copyrighted version of plaintiff's song." The judge added that the songs were not similar enough to prove that copyright infringement had taken place.

Dannii more famous than Kylie
Believe it or not, Kylie Minogue was once overshadowed by her little sister Dannii, and hated it. Dannii used to have her own fan club when she was 12 and appearing in one of Australia’s most popular television shows, ‘Young Talent Time’.
« You couldn’t get more famous than being on that show. Kylie wasn’t famous at that stage, and she was always called Dannii’s sister », Dannii told the Sunday Mail in London. She added : « She hated that, because she was the oldest child and it was at a time in her life when she was developing her own personality. She didn’t want to be defined by me. » Kylie later scored a part on the ‘Neighbours’, which in turn helped kick-start her pop career and sent her on a one track ride ton superstardom. But now Dannii, 31, has released a new album, ‘Neon Nights’, her first in six years, and is looking forward to the future. She has also acknowledged the reversal in fortunes between the sisters, saying it has made them stronger. « Now the tables have turned. Kylie and I share a lot of compassion because we’ve both been on both sides », she said. By the way, Kylie has celebrated her 35th birthday 2 weeks ago: Happy Birthday Kyles.

Timberlake Letting Passion Determine His First Film Role
Hollywood is undoubtedly knocking on Justin Timberlake's door, but the question is when will he answer?
Well, with a summer tour on his itinerary and plans for a fall reunion with 'NSYNC, he couldn't film anything until next year if he wanted to, but that doesn't seem to be a problem.
"Honestly, I think that transition will be made at some point, I'm just not exactly sure when," the singer said recently. "Just being onstage and being an entertainer you get the bug, you wonder how you would be onscreen ... but until the right project comes along I won't make that step. I won't do a movie just so when I'm old I can say, 'Hey, remember when I did a movie?' I'd rather it be something that I believed in and something that I felt passionate about."
Timberlake, who has read numerous scripts, including one for a "Superman" project, is approaching his segue into film the same way he handles all his endeavors.
"I try not to look too far ahead," he explained. "I think it's important to not forget those steps up the ladder that you have to take to get to a certain point. ... That's the beauty of being an artist - you just go where the inspiration lies. You can't put a finger on it and you never know what's going to work. You just have to go with how you feel. Go with the flow."

Madonna Book Due in Fall: The English Roses
Madonna's The English Roses will be published on September 15th. The first in a five-volume series of children's books is expected to be the widest, simultaneous multi-language book release in publishing history; in addition to the U.S. and U.K., the book will be published in more than 100 countries, including Lithuania, Italy, France, Thailand, and will appear in forty-two different languages.
Each of the five books will feature Madonna's text paired with a different illustrator. The identity of the first artist will not be revealed until the book's release date. The title and pub date for the second book will be announced on the day of Roses' release.

The book, published by Callaway Editions, will have an initial print run of 400,000 copies in the U.S. "It's hardly news that Madonna knows how to communicate," said Callaway publisher and editor Nicholas Callaway. "Now we will have a new generation throughout the world that will know Madonna as an inspiring storyteller."

Aretha Franklin Fire Investigation Turns To Michigan Attorney General
The investigation into last October's fire that ravaged Aretha Franklin's $1.6 million Michigan home has taken a new turn. After police and fire officials failed to agree on specific charges on Tuesday (May 27), they asked the state attorney general's office for assistance. Authorities have already ruled the October 25 fire as arson. Earlier this month, Franklin was ordered to remove all debris from the property and also inform Bloomfield Township officials of her future plans for rebuilding or tearing down what remains of the mansion. After being subpoenaed in February, Franklin met with county investigators. At the time of the fire, she was out of the state.
