Britney Spears set for November wedding |
|
Britney Spears is reported to have chosen the famous Beverly Hills Hotel for her wedding to dancer Kevin Federline.
"The Sun" says she's planning to marry on November 20 and decided the old fashioned Hollywood hotel would provide the perfect romantic setting.
The paper says the wedding is expected to cost in the region of £1 M, with more than £100,000 being spent bringing white tulips in from Amsterdam.
An insider who works for the Beverly Hills wedding planner who Spears has hired, said: "She loves the tulips and wants the whole place decked out with them. She has also specified that she wants 300 bottles of expensive Cristal champagne.
"She hasn't decided on a wedding breakfast menu yet but has said she isn't skimping on anything. She said she wants a massive affair that is nothing like the Las Vegas cheap wedding she had before, which was annulled after just 55 hours.
"Britney is already having her white wedding dress designed and says it will be very traditional. She is having five bridesmaids including her sister Jamie and one of her oldest friends from school. She has been scouring wedding magazines for ideas but her mum Lynne has a lot of input too."
Spears' mother Lynne has said plans for the wedding were "well ahead" and added: "All I want for her is something really nice, something really beautiful".

George Michael Shutters Website |
|
George Michael has announced plans to shut down the chatroom on his
Website (GeorgeMichael.com) because it has turned into a forum for
"negative comments".
Some lousy fans are calling him old, fat and lazy, among other things.
In an online letter to his forum readers, Michael says that the site
was intended to get fan feedback on his recent album, Patience, and not
into a virtual bitch-fest.
Michael will keep the forums open for the next two weeks so that "those
of you who have made friendships can decide which other sites to meet
at, and then the rooms will close."
Earlier this year, Michael, announced that he was quitting the
corporate recording biz and would only release his music via his Website. While
a chart-topping success in his native U.K., Patience has barely
registered in the States, debuting at 29 in May.

Bowie had a Heart Surgery |
|
David Bowie cancelled his 11 dates left from his European tour after a
pinched nerve in the shoulder during a show in Scheessel, Germany.
Bowie was taken to a Hamburg hospital immediately following the concert.
At some point while being examined, doctors discovered the artery
blockage.
A statement from Bowie's rep said the 57-year-old was back home in New
York and doing well. Bowie had faced harsh reality throughout his
Reality tour. In Miami, a concert was canceled after a stagehand was killed
in a preshow accident. In Norway, the "Space Oddity" himself took a
lollipop in the eye.
Until his recent maladies, Bowie had been one of the more durable
veteran rock acts around.
A 1996 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Bowie's career dates back
to the 1960s when he broke through with the influential hit "Space
Oddity." Other key songs in his genre- and gender-bending canon include
"Young Americans," "Let's Dance", "China Girl" and "Fame."
Bowie has been married to the supermodel Iman since 1992. They have one
daughter, three-year-old Alexandria.

Comeback: Wet Wet Wet |
|
Singer Marti Pellow and the rest of the band have decided to reform.
After 7 years of absence, the Wet Wet Wet have launched their comeback.
They last performed together in 1997 and split two years later
following revelations of Pellow's heroine addiction. The break-up was so bitter
that the band did not speak for five years until they were reunited at
the funeral of Pellow's mother.
They marked their comeback with a tiny gig in a London club where they
played hits including "Goodnight Girl", "Love Is All Around" and went on to
sell more than 15 million records. The band are releasing a new single
and greatest hits album in November.

U2: HELP We lost our CD! |
|
During a photo session in Nice, U2 have lost a CD containing songs from
their forthcoming album. The band have been working on the follow-up to
’All That You Can’t Leave Behind’ for much of the year. The album isn’t
due until the autumn at the earliest. Lucian Grainge, chairman and CEO
of Universal Music Group UK said : "This matter is of great concern to
us. As the missing CD is our property we are very keen to find it as
soon as possible. The French police are being extremely helpful in this
regard." It is currently unknown if any of the new songs have leaked
onto the Internet. If you know who has the CD, help out your favorite band
to recuperate it.
