Prodigy reveal album |
|
The Prodigy will release their new album, "Always Outnumbered, Never
Outgunned", in August. It's been seven years since the release of "The
Fat Of The Land".
The album will contain tracks such as "Girlz", "Get Up Get Off", "Wake
Up", "Ice" and "1965" . It seems that the tracks suggest an aggressive,
industrial electro blueprint of vicious quality, bearing the handprints
of Liam Howlett's familiar production. However, none of the tracks seem
to feature either Maxim or Keith Flint, the remaining members of The
Prodigy, with many tracks featuring looped vocal samples. Howlett
confirmed during an interview that "Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned" is
virtually a solo project. He said that Keef and Maxim weren’t involved
musically and they are not on this album.

The Cure are back |
|
The Cure's first album in four years will be released in June 29. The
groups' first single will be entitled "The End of the World".
The album is called "The Cure" and the classic Cure sound is evident on
such tracks as "Before 3", "Taking Off" and "I Don't Know What's Going
On", which sport great melodies and foot-tapping tempos. The 12th
track, the tentatively titled "Jason #3" provides the album with a late shot
of energy thanks to a clever, melodically ascending chorus. The album
has its share of dark and intense material, particularly the track "The
Promise", "Us Or Them" matches its confrontational title with an
emphatic chorus ("I don't want you anywhere near me"), while "Going Nowhere"
wraps things up with sad, dreamy production accented by piano.
Robert Smith revealed that former guitarist Porl Thompson, who left the
Cure in 1993, recorded parts for a couple of tracks. Welcome back The Cure.

Take That re-united ! |
|
Take That might re-form at the end of the year but probably without
Robbie Williams. The members of the band, Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason
Orange and Howard Donald will team up for the first time in six years.
They might consider a one-off live performance and a series of TV
appearances.
Former manager Nigel Martin Smith claimed that the band's record label
BMG came with the idea of releasing live footage of their old concerts.
They would put out a live DVD complete with Robbie to coincide with the
re-release of the band's digitally remastered back catalogue.
The last time Take That stood on a British stage together was at
London's Earls Court in August 1995. Since then Mark has gone solo, Howard
has become a DJ, Gary is a successful songwriter and Jason a property tycoon.

The Corrs' new album |
|
With their first studio album since 2000 soon due in stores, Irish
quartet The Corrs has lined up more than a month of North American tour dates.
The trek gets underway in Calgary on Aug. 2, and visits about two dozen
cities in the U.S. and Canada through early September.
A June 1 release date is scheduled in Canada for the new album, titled
"Borrowed Heaven," and a June 8 release is planned for the U.S. The
set's first single, "Summer Sunshine," is streaming along with its
companion video at The Corrs' official website.
"Borrowed Heaven" is the group's first studio album since 2000's
platinum-certified "In Blue." The new set was recorded in Dublin and Los
Angeles, and was produced by Olle Romo.
The quartet--which consists of three sisters and one brother--wrote all
of the tracks on "Borrowed Heaven" except for "Time Enough for Tears,"
the Golden Globe-nominated theme for the 2003 film "In America." U2's
Bono co-wrote that song with Gavin Friday and Maurice Seezer; Andrea
Corr performed it on the movie's soundtrack.
Ladysmith Black Mambazo contributes backup vocals to "Borrowed
Heaven"'s title track.

Axl Rose Sued By Ex-Guns N' Roses Bandmates |
|
Slash, Duff McKagan seek at least $1 million; accuse singer of turning
down lucrative offers without their consent. They want to prevent the
release of a Guns N' Roses greatest-hits album. But they lost. Now,
Slash, McKagan and Rose again have their names on a legal document, only
this time their union is adversarial: the two members of Velvet Revolver
are suing Axl for at least $1 million, according to "Celebrity Justice."
In the suit, Rose is accused of rejecting requests to use old Guns N'
Roses songs in major motion pictures even though he lacks controlling
interest in the material. Slash and McKagan added that they weren't
consulted when their ex-bandmate nixed lucrative offers from the makers of
"We Were Soldiers," "Death to Smoochy," "Old School" and "Just Married."
The suit also claims Rose killed negotiations with the producers of
"Black Hawk Down," who wanted to use "Welcome to the Jungle" in their
movie. He allegedly had wanted to re-record the track with the new members
of GN'R he had hired so Slash and McKagan wouldn't receive any
licensing payment.
