Geroge Michael back to Sony
According to George Michael's Fans Website, George has signed a new worldwide recording deal with the U.K. arm of Sony Music, the company he tried to "divorce" in a long legal battle. He has teamed up with Sony in a big money global deal which is also understood to include sales of his back catalogue. Michael took the firm to court to free him of his old deal in a mammoth court case which began in 1993 and lasted months. He had been unhappy about his long-standing contract but his legal bid failed. Record companies Virgin and Dreamworks subsequently bought him out of that deal in 1995.

Sony Music UK confirmed tonight that it had signed a new worldwide record deal with the singer.

Michael is currently recording "Patience," his first album since 1996's "Older," for an expected release in early 2004.

The new deal may resurrect Michael's recording career, which many U.K. press reports dismissed after his last single, "Shoot the Dog" (Polydor).

Sources close to the negotiations at the time said Sony was to receive a cash sum of $30 million-$40 million as a payment to release Michael. This was to be paid by DreamWorks and Virgin against their earnings from the release of subsequent albums.

Oasis soon back
Oasis fans eagerly awaiting new material from the band can expect to start hearing new stuff sooner than later. According to band's official website, Oasis are going to be into the studio early next year to record with Death in Vegas, Tim Holmes and Richard Fearless.

Holmes and Fearless will produce songs which could become a new album.
The band have known Death In Vegas for some time, and Liam Gallagher sang guest vocals on their album Scorpio Rising. However, a spokesperson for the band said: "Oasis recently met up with Tim Holmes and Richard Fearless, the production team behind Death In Vegas. They decided to go into the studio early next year to work on some new Oasis tracks together."

Earlier in the year Noel Gallagher said that he had up to 13 new songs written for the record. "I've got about five songs done, Liam's got about six, and Gem's got a couple," Noel said.

Kylie's sympathy for Britney
Kylie has spoken out in support of Britney at a press conference ahead of a special gig for fans at the weekend.
Both singers released their albums few days ago, and Kylie was asked about Britney's recent breakdown on TV.
Kylie said that people should go easy on Britney because she's young and has a punishing work schedule:
"Promotion is probably the most gruelling aspect of the job. You pass all these other performers, pop stars, singers and bands, and everyone just looks as tired as everyone else, everyone's just crossing paths, and they all look as exhausted as you feel."
"I didn't see the interview, but when I was her age I was finding some things pretty difficult as well. I think we forget she's 21 years-old."
"It seems like she's got her family around her, and that's where I turned when things got difficult for me. I think if you have that you'll be fine." (BBC Radio 1)

Meat Loaf Collapses
Meat Loaf collapsed onstage during a sold-out concert on Monday the 18t at London's Wembley Arena, the Loaf, real name Marvin Lee Aday, was treated for exhaustion at a nearby hospital.
The 56-year-old rocker's collapse was "due to a prolonged viral infection. It is not life-threatening," said a rep from his record label.
Meat Loaf reportedly tried to continue his performance before being advised by paramedics on the scene to cancel the show.
A spokesperson at Northwick Park Hospital, where Meat Loaf was taken, said he would be "re-evaluated by doctors today and further information about his status will be made available."

A second sold-out show planned for Tuesday night at Wembley has been postponed. While an announcement on his official fan site said both shows had been rescheduled for December, there's been no official word from his label on when/if the shows will be rescheduled.

The larger-than-life Texan is on tour to promote his new album, Couldn't Have Said It Better.

Meat Loaf's breakout '70s album Bat Out of Hell has sold nearly 15 million copies in the U.S. alone. It also ranks as the biggest-selling album ever in the U.K., according to The Guinness Book of World Record. He won a Grammy for 1993's "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)." The Loaf has also been a familiar face in movies, including The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Fight Club.

Moody, Evanescence split might be permanent
Lead guitarist Ben Moody's pulled when he suddenly hopped a flight home from Berlin on October 24. Is he splitting from Evanescence?
Moody abandoned the group he co-founded with singer Amy Lee midway through a European tour last month. No reason was given for the walkout. He left without public explanation, just before a scheduled performance in Berlin.
"I actually haven't had any contact with him at all," Lee said at Sunday's American Music Awards. "But I hear he's way happier, and I know we all are, so it's for the best.

Cold guitarist Terry Balsamo performed with the group on Sunday, and has stepped in to replace Moody at least through February. He'll join Evanescence on their upcoming North American tour and a string of shows in Australia and Japan in January. He may also join the group when writing starts for their next album.
Evanescence will continue with their world tour and no dates will be cancelled. Their new single is intitled "Immortal" , what a coincidence!

Delta Goodrem: 24 weeks n°1
Delta Goodrem has the number one album yet again in Australia. That makes 24 weeks in total at number one so far for 'Innocent Eyes'. If Delta can stay at number one again next week she will tie with John Farnham's 'Whispering Jack' for the longest charting Australian number one of all time. Do it for two more weeks and she will own the title.

It will be interesting to see if Delta stays on top next week. Kylie's 'Body Language' album is released this week placing them head to head. However, Kylie has a battle on her hands. Her last album 'Fever' sold more than 40,000 units in the first week, so time will tell. Delta's dominance is so great that last week after 34 weeks on the chart she managed to sell 30,385 albums and that is over 5,000 more units than last week. At number two, John Farnham's 'One Voice' was tailing by more than 11,000 units. 'One Voice' sold 19,360 last week. Both Farnham and Goodrem are managed by Glenn Wheatley. That gives Wheatley's Talentworks management company a sales tally of 50,195 out of the 125,535 albums sold last week in Australia. (Undercover Media)

New EP from Madonna
A seven-song EP, Remixed and Revisited, is due November 25, it will feature four reworked songs from her latest album and the live medley of "Like a Virgin" and "Hollywood" she performed with Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears at this year's MTV Video Music Awards. "Your Honesty" a previously unreleased song will also be in the EP
"Your Honesty," co-written and co-produced by Dallas Austin, was recorded during the sessions that spawned 1994's Bedtime Stories but was left off the album because Madonna already had an overabundance of songs. Although it was all but forgotten about until her manager yanked it from the vaults, she said it was still one of her favorites.

Although Jason Nevins' remix of "Nothing Fails" has been chosen as the EP's first radio single, a video for the Headcleanr rock mix of "Love Profusion," another American Life track, was shot earlier this month by director Luc Besson, who also helmed the Estée Lauder TV spots that feature the song. Although the queen of pop sings and dances throughout the clip, it won't look like any concert her fans have ever been to.

More news from Madonna; Her Maverick Films will produce the film "She Rocks," starring Amanda Peet as a music journalist who changes a rock star's life with her story, and Madonna hopes her most successful book, "The English Roses," will become an animated feature, in which she'll lend her voice to the fairy godmother character. Three more children's books are also on the way, the first of which will be "Yakov and the Seven Thieves."
