Alanis Morissette to release 'Chaos'
According to Alanis Morissette's Fans Website, Alanis is working on her alblum "Chaos", a new album due in February. She started writing it in June "with, for the first time, the intent of not going to any extremes in terms of workaholism. I'd write a song, take a month off, write a few more songs. As the fall began, I had a real sense of the 10 songs that I wanted to be on the record," she says. Any song that required more than 30 minutes to write was discarded. "Instead of spending months at a time in a belabored process, I was interested in something non-precious with an immediate visceral response." Chaos will be her first studio album since 2002's Under Rug Swept.
Morissette plans limited touring, "but not the tyrannical cycle of killing myself for a year and then recovering for a year. I have no interest in that lifestyle anymore."

Jennifer Lopez on TV
It is reported on Jennifer Lopez's fan website that the star will be making occasional appearances on the daytime television program she's co-producing. The program will host J.Lo's sister, Lynda Lopez, along with three other women.
The program will most probably be a talk show similar to "The View", but geared toward younger women. The show is set to have four co-hosts and so far only one slot has been filled.
The show is supposed to focus on issues including coverage of news, pop culture, celebrity, beauty and fashion. The program is scheduled to hit the airwaves in September, 2004.
A publicist for J.Lo's program describes the show as "a one-stop source for the very latest on pop culture, news, lifestyle, celebrities, beauty and fashion." The show has yet to receive a name but it is expected to go into syndication next Fall.

'NSYNC JC Chasez to release fisrt solo single
Singer JC Chasez, former singer of 'NSYNC has teamed up with Wu-Tang Clan rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard for the radio remix of his upcoming solo single. JC said he wanted to mark the release of his debut solo effort with something special. He will be releasing his single next month in the US titled, "Some Girls (Dance With Women)".
According to MTV, the video for the new single is set in the streets of Prague (though filmed mostly in Los Angeles) with director Martin Weisz.
"Some Girls (Dance With Women)" is the first track to be lifted from JC's debut solo album "Schizophrenic" which is released in the US on January 27.
According to Justin Timberlake, any reunion will now have to wait until after JC has released his own solo record.
'NSYNC will not be reforming for the foreseeable future, according to singer to Justin.
The US pop group, who achieved phenomenal success with their 2000 LP 'No Strings Attached', were rumoured to have split after Timberlake took a break to launch his solo career.
Other band members also took time out to pursue solo projects, with Lance Bass training to become an astronaut in Russia, Joey Fatone landing a number of acting roles and JC Chasez recording solo material.

Tribute DVD for George Harrison
The tribute concert for George Harrison held in London back in November 29 2001, will be released on a DVD on November 17. "Concert for George" will be available as a double disc of 4 hours. The Show has been digitally enhanced using the latest audio and visual DVD technology and is packed with numerous extras including special interviews and backstage footage. Following the limited cinema release earlier in the month, the full show features performances by Eric Clapton (the organiser/musical director), Jeff Lynne, Paul McCartney, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Billy Preston, Ringo Starr, and Ravi and Anoushka Shankar. The show includes versions of "Inner Light", "Taxman", "I Need You", "Give Me Love", "Handle With Care", "For You Blue" and "All Things Must Pass". Proceeds from the concert, film and DVD will be donated to the Material World Charitable Foundation, which Harrison founded in the 70s.

Elton in Las Vegas
Singer, songwriter, producer Sir Elton John has signed on for a 3 year 75 show run in Las Vegas. The star has been disseminating this rumour but he can't hide anymore as he will start his show in February 2004. According to reports, Elton will perform at the state-of-the-art Vegas venue five times a week each year in a deal said to be worth more than $50 million. The production, dubbed 'The Red Piano', has been designed by acclaimed photographer David LaChappelle and is said to feature "an eclectic mix of songs and costumes". Elton's shows will not affect the schedule for Dion's multi-million dollar production, which has already paused to make way for performances from the likes of Gloria Estefan and Mariah Carey... Tickets for Elton's first series of shows (February 13-22) are on sale via the Caesars Palace box office. Tickets are priced at $100, $175 and $250.

Kylie's 'Body language'
BBC Radio 1 reports that Kylie's new album 'Body Language' is coming out the middle of next month and she's been discussing the pitfalls of choosing the title.
She did think she might be setting herself up there with people going on about her body all the time. Apparently this album's a bit more down tempo, although she wanted to stress that doesn't mean it's boring: "'Body Language' is a line from the first single 'Slow', where I say 'read my body language'. I was immediately attracted to that as a title. I did of course think, 'Is that going to create more of a problem than I wish?' But I think it's indicative of pop music today, you can't really separate your image from your music so I think it works."
The single 'Slow' is out on 3 November and 'Body Language' is out 17 November.

Lucradis feat. Kylie
Ludacris is well known for his collaborations, but it's been revealed by BBC Radio 1 that he's planning to work with Kylie Minogue. Something else to look out for is the Fatboy Slim remix of his new single 'Stand Up', we should get to hear in a few weeks. His new album 'Chicken and Beer' is top of the US Billboard chart and other future collaborations include one with Redman, Method Man and Outkast. Ludacris reckons he brings something totally different to their tracks:
"I just try to spread myself out there with people that I'm also a fan of, and let people know that I can come to their level, whatever subject they're talking about, and just show my versatility as an MC." "I try to listen to the track for something that I know no-one else is gonna hear, when it comes to being different on a song, and try and flip it in a whole new direction. Be me, that's what I try to do."

3 Doors Down Preps Live EP
The Rock group 3 Doors Down will release a six-song live EP, "Another 700 Miles," in November 11. The CD will inculde the new track "It's Not Me," a cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "That Smell," and such rock radio hits as "When I'm Gone," "Kryptonite," "Here Without You" and "Duck & Run".
Each album will be bundled with a VIP pass allowing the buyer special access to select shows on 3 Doors Down's fall North American tour. 3 Doors Down is touring in support of its latest studio album, "Away From the Sun," which debuted in November at No. 8 on US album charts. The act is nominated for favorite pop/rock band at the American Music Awards, taking place November 16 in Los Angeles.

Elliott Smith Commits Suicide
On October 21st, 34 year old Elliott Smith, apparently committed suicide and was found at home by his live-in girlfriend at around noon. The musician, who was often compared to Nick Drake and Alex Chilton, was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead from a stab wound in the chest. Officials confirmed that it was most likely “self-inflicted.”
Although Smith was born in Nebraska (1969), he spent most of his youth growing up in the suburbs of Dallas, TX with his mother, a singer. In high school he moved to Portland, OR to live with his father, a psychiatrist. He graduated from Hampshire College in Amherst, MA, later moving back to Portland where he joined the punk band Heatmiser. In 1997 he moved to New York, where he was asked by Gus Van Sant to contribute music to his film, Good Will Hunting, which won Smith an Academy Award nomination in 1998. Many Americans were introduced to the singer from his downcast performance at the televised 70th Academy Awards.
Smith wrote his first song at age 13 when his name was still Steven Paul Smith. He changed his name to Elliott while living in Portland because he thought Steve was too “jockish.” He went on to record solo work that included independently released albums, Roman Candle (1994), Elliott Smith (1995) and Either/Or (1997). In the late ‘90s he signed a deal with DreamWorks Records to record XO (1998) and Figure 8 (2000). At the time of his death he was finishing another album said to be titled From a Basement on a Hill, which may have described where he currently lived. In recent years, like Beck and E from the Eels, Smith was a fixture of the hip east Los Angeles neighborhood of Silver Lake where the cover photo for his album Figure 8 was taken on Sunset Blvd.
Smith did not see his work as being intimate and confessional, yet his fans did. Sadly, he was battling alcohol and drug addiction at the time of his death.
DreamWorks Records released a statement saying, "We are deeply saddened by Elliott Smith's tragic death. He was perhaps his generation's most gifted singer/songwriter. His enormous talent could change your life with a whisper."
