Danni's new dance craze |
|
We all know the macarena, the nutbush, the washing-machine and the
hokey-pokey, but what about the 'sinking boat'. While Dannii Minogue was
performing on stage she tried to point out to the crowd mid song that a
boat was sinking in a lake behind them. Instead , the crowd thought that
Dannii was revolutionising a new dance move, which from now will be
referred to as 'the point'. The crowd totally ignored the real message in
Dannii's moves and started imitating the dance diva thinking it was some
cool new move.
"I really enjoyed performing here today but there was a moment in my
act when, yes I was a bit concerned,' she said. A 13 year old fan, said
she had not realised anything wrong . "I saw her doing this strange move
which was not like her normal dance routine. I thought it might be some
new sort of dance craze and started copying,' the Fan said.
The capsized captain was embarrassed to learn that Dannii Had seen the
whole thing. Where's the funniest home video crew when you need them most?

Justin the Sexiest Man ! |
|
According to one of those great surveys, Justin Timberlake has been
deemed the sexiest man alive; yes, he even beet soccer guru Beck's.
The UK poll in a magazine featuring the 100 sexiest man went a little
bit like this:
1. Justin Timberlake
2. David Beckham
3. Brad Pitt
4. Duncan James from Blue
5. Robbie Williams
6. Colin Farell
The weird thing for Robbie Williams is that he also had the wrong
distinction of being the 7th on the unsexy man list -
what the ? he was just in front of British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Fugees Settle Score |
|
The war of words between Pras and Wyclef has led to Pras officially
announcing his resignation from the Fugees.
Hopes of the oft-cited reunion of the Fugees, who sold 17 million
copies of their 1996 album 'The Score', had been kept alive by the pair
despite the disinterest of solo star and Fugees singer, Lauryn Hill.
But in response to harsh words on wax from Wyclef, Pras told
allhiphop.com, "I officially resigned from the group.
I feel like he crossed the line that he wasn't supposed to cross. As a
man, I can't turn back, for the price of my soul, and be like it's all
good now. He got it f**ked up."
Wyclef recently released a disc record entitled 'Fake Ass Pras' on
which he rhymes about his former Fugees colleague and friend, claiming that
he wrote tracks like Pras' solo hit, 'Ghetto Superstar'.
He also alleges that Pras' role in the Fugees was minimal, saying:
"Every fan wants to see the Fugees back together / the only thing they
don't want is the third member."
However, speaking to sohh.com, Pras said: "I started the group. It was
me, Lauryn and another girl. And he was in another wack ass group and
he kind of begged me to be in the group."
Pras is currently working on a new solo album, 'Coldfire', which will
be released on his own Guerrilla Entertainment label and feature his
Guerrilla Task Force crew.

Barbie hits Ken |
|
Former Aqua singer Lene Nystrom is hitting the Danish gossip columns
after punching an unnamed record producer in the face.
The incident allegedly happened at the 40th birthday celebrations of
Jens Otto Paludan, head of Universal Music Denmark.
Nystrom is reported to have felled the producer after he commented on her
seductive dance moves. She then poured whiskey over him.
Nystrom, who sold 19 million albums as part of Aqua,
is about to launch herself as a solo artist under the name Lene.
A single 'It's Your Duty', with its chorus "It's your duty duty, to
shake that booty booty. Small, fat, all round or juicy, it's your duty
duty, to shake that booty booty," has already caused mild controversy in
her home country of Norway.
It will be released in September and followed by an album 'Play With Me'.
The singer has also announced that she will be posing for Playboy.
"However I don't undress completely," she told BT magazine. "But I feel
comfortable with doing that right now, because I've never felt better,
physically and mentally. I have trained very much, two hours every morning
with a personal trainer, and never felt that I looked so good in a bikini."

/ Massive Attack album is imminent... next year Speaking to Undercover News, Dandies' frontman
Courtney Taylor-Taylor confirmed that both bands had been collaborating on an
album but have been looking for time to complete it.
"On and off we keep chiseling away at this sculpture we're sort of
making" he says. "Now we've both released records so we're busy on tour a
lot. We played together in Holland, so we were talking about what to do
and we're thinking since we've just built a new studio we should have
them come to Portland and we're thinking maybe next Fall".

Morrison plays from his grave |
|
In a bizarre twist to the story of The Doors, original band members Ray
Manzarek and Robby Krieger will visit the grave site of Jim Morrison in
Paris on December 8th. A 21st Century incarnation of the band will play
the French capital the following night for the first time.
Morrison was famously buried in the 'Père Lachaise' cemetery after dying
in mysterious circumstances in 1971. December 8th 2003
will mark what would have been the singer's 60th birthday.
"The Doors never played Paris, even with Jim," said keyboardist
Manzarek, speaking to the LA Times. "This is the first official French gig.
We'll go see Jim on [December] 8, have a little happy birthday for him,
and then [December] 9 is L.A. Woman in Paris."
He added, "We'll be doing L.A. Woman from top to bottom in honor of
Jim's 60th birthday. We never got to play it live. We recorded it, then
Jim went to Paris and never came back. But now we get
to do the tour that never happened."
The move has drawn criticism from original Doors drummer John Densmore.
"I feel kind of like the French felt toward us when we bombed Iraq
about the pseudo-Doors playing Paris and traipsing around Jim's grave for
publicity," he told the paper.
The Doors Of The 21st Century, with Ian Astbury of The
Cult filling Morrison's boots, play Wembley Arena on 11th December.

James Brown to Get D.C. Honor |
|
The Godfather of Soul and the Coal Miner's Daughter are among this
year's recipients of Kennedy Center Honors in the performing arts. James
Brown and Loretta Lynn will join violinist Itzhak Perlman, comedienne
Carol Burnett and director Mike Nichols (The Graduate) to receive the
lifetime-achievement awards in Washington, D.C., December 7th.
Brown, 78, and Lynn, 68, both made their names in the Sixties. Brown
broke through as a member of the Flames in the Fifties, but didn't record
"Papa's Got a Brand New Bag" and "I Got You (I Feel Good)" until 1965.
Lynn, meanwhile, scored her first hit with 1962's aptly-named
"Success"; she's best-known, of course, for 1971's "Coal Miner's Daughter," one
of her four Number One singles, which tells the story of her Kentucky childhood.
Last year, Paul McCartney was announced as a recipient but declined to
participate, citing a conflicting obligation. At the time, the Kennedy
Center said McCartney would be honored this year, but
a statement issued yesterday said only, "Paul McCartney will not
be receiving a Kennedy Center Honor."

Motley Crue box due to release this fall |
|
Motley Crue plan to release their four-disc box set retrospective
November 11th. The collection will pull from the band's entire catalogue,
featuring rarities as well as the hits from their multi-platinum Eighties run.
"It's cumbersome to put together, but it's going to be exciting for the
buyer," Crue founder, songwriter and bassist Nikki Sixx told Rolling
Stone earlier this year. "I want them to go, 'Wow, I never thought I'd
get my hands on the very first single. They only made
a thousand of these things, and here I finally get it.'"
Also in the works for Sixx and his former bandmates Vince Neil --
charged recently with assaulting a prostitute in Nevada -- Tommy Lee and
Mick Mars is a movie deal based on their best-selling autobiography The
Dirt. The film's release could kickstart a Crue reunion tour. "It will be
the original lineup or there won't be a tour," Sixx said. "It's hard
for guys like Tommy and Vince to visualize being on stage together, but
you sit down and say, 'Look, we have this huge history and the fans love
the music, so let's give them the greatest Motley Crue experience and then move on.'"
